Carolyn – Restorative Yoga and Meditation

25th April | 6pm – 7:30pm
£20

Restorative Yoga is a gentler form of yoga, performed at a slower pace using asanas (poses) focusing on stretching and relaxing the body.  This slower type of practice encourages deep relaxation and stillness, which can help reduce stress and musculoskeletal pain associated with tight muscles, joints & connective tissues.  Props are often used, such as blocks and bolsters, to encourage a deeper relaxation practice.

Focus during this practice is also on connecting with the breath to deepen the relaxation process and the mind/body connection, which can help lower cortisol levels (stress hormone) in the body.   It is a wonderful practice to calm the mind and soothe the body and perfect to help people reach deep overall relaxation, a perfect practice to unwind and create inner peace.

This workshop will finish with a guided meditation to deepen the relaxation of the body and mind, encouraging an overall sense of calm and wellbeing.

Carolyn is a registered physiotherapist, sports & deep tissue massage therapist, NLP practitioner, and yoga & Pilates teacher.  She holds a Bachelor of Physiotherapy (MCSP/HCPC), Bachelor of Applied Science in Human Movement (Exercise Science), and a Diploma in Yoga Teacher Training.

May Workshops

Molly – Sound Bath

2nd May | 7:00pm – 8:30pm
£30

Sound healing has been around for thousands of years, with roots in many ancient cultures. A sound bath is a meditative experience where you will be “bathed” in sound waves produced by various instruments such as gongs, singing bowls, chimes, and other resonant frequencies. The vibrations and frequencies are designed to bring about a state of deep relaxation, stress reduction, and overall health and vitality.

Molly will be combining a 45 minute restorative yoga session with a 45 minute sound bath which will leave you feeling uplifted, focused and deeply connected to oneself. No prior experience is needed and everyone is welcome, from elite athletes to complete novices. All you need to bring is yourself, a yoga mat, some water, a cushion or pillow and a blanket. All props such as bolsters, blocks and straps are provided. You may wish to bring an eye mask or eye pillow to deepen the immersive experience but this is not essential and completely optional.
